7 Most Expensive Cars in the World (2025)

1. Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail – $30–32 Million

Rolls-Royce

The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail is a bespoke, two-seat roadster created by the automaker’s Coachbuild division. As the first of only four Droptail commissions, the car is a tribute to the rare Black Baccara rose and was inspired by a specific family’s experiences and memories. The project took four years to complete.

The pinnacle of bespoke luxury, this one-of-four coachbuilt roadster from Rolls-Royce’s elite program draws inspiration from the Black Baccara rose. Featuring over 1,600 hand-laid wood marquetry pieces, a twin-turbo V12 (563 hp), and a removable electrochromic hardtop, it’s a rolling sculpture taking 4+ years to craft.

Engine and performance

  • Engine: The car is powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine.
  • Performance: It delivers 563 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque. According to NDTV, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

2. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail – $28 Million

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a bespoke, hand-built grand tourer created by the Rolls-Royce Coachbuild division, with an estimated cost of around $28 million. Only three units of the Boat Tail were produced, each with a unique design commissioned by its owner.
Limited to just three units, this yacht-inspired grand tourer reimagines 1930s Boat Tails with a rear deck unveiling a custom champagne fridge, caviar set, and folding stools. Powered by a 6.75L V12, its handcrafted interiors (e.g., pearl inlays for one owner) make it a mobile dining pavilion for billionaires.

Rolls-Royce Boat Tail

Yacht-inspired silhouette: The design of the Boat Tail, a revival of Rolls-Royce’s coachbuilding program, was inspired by the elegant J-class yachts and the company’s 1920s and 1930s “boat tail” models. The rear deck tapers to create a “hull form” that suggests a boat rising out of the water.
Engine and performance

Performance: The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in around 5.3 seconds.

Engine: The Boat Tail shares its 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Power: It delivers 563 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque.

3. Bugatti La Voiture Noire – $18.7 Million

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a one-off, bespoke hypercar that sold for approximately $18.7 million (including taxes) at its debut. Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the car was created to celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary and pays homage to the legendary Type 57 SC Atlantic, one of which went missing during World War II.

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

“The Black Car”: Its name, “La Voiture Noire,” is French for “The Black Car”. The carbon-fiber body is covered in a “Black Carbon Glossy” clearcoat that creates a unique finish with minimal reflections, adding to its dramatic appearance.
Type 57 SC Atlantic influence: The design draws heavily from the art deco style of the Type 57 SC Atlantic, featuring a dorsal fin that runs down the centerline of the car. The extended front end and sleek lines are a modern reinterpretation of the classic model.
Engine and performance

Acceleration: According to Bugatti Broward, the La Voiture Noire can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds.

Engine: The hypercar is powered by Bugatti’s iconic 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine, the same one found in the Bugatti Chiron.

Output: It produces 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque.

4. Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta – $17 Million

The Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta is an ultra-exclusive, one-of-three, limited-edition version of the Pagani Zonda. With only three units in existence, one of which was kept by company founder Horacio Pagani, its rarity contributes to an estimated value of around $17 million. The “HP” in its name stands for Horacio Pagani.

Rarity and value

Legacy vehicle: It serves as a tribute to the long-running Zonda production run and a showcase of Pagani’s engineering and design.

One-of-a-kind: Just three models of the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta were ever built.

Limited availability: One of the three vehicles was kept by Horacio Pagani himself, making the other two models even more exclusive and sought after by collectors.

Just three open-top tributes to the Zonda lineage exist, each with a 7.3L Mercedes-AMG V12 (789 hp). Exposed carbon “shark-fin” hoops, hand-stitched interiors, and manual transmission deliver raw emotion—pure collector catnip that’s appreciating rapidly.

  • Engine: The car is powered by a naturally aspirated 7.3-liter Mercedes-AMG V12 engine.
  • Performance: It produces 789 horsepower and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • High-end components: The HP Barchetta borrows its suspension setup, tires, and seats from the Pagani Huayra BC.

5. Rolls-Royce Sweptail – $13 Million

The Rolls-Royce Sweptail is a one-off luxury grand tourer that was custom-built by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars for a single, anonymous customer. Unveiled in 2017, the car took four years to design and build. Its estimated cost of around $13 million at the time of its debut made it one of the most expensive new cars in the world.

Legacy

  • Pinnacle of bespoke: As the first true coachbuilt car of the modern era from Rolls-Royce, the Sweptail was considered the automotive equivalent of haute couture.
  • Catalyst for new division: The project’s success led Rolls-Royce to formally re-establish its Coachbuild department, which has since produced other bespoke cars like the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail and Droptail series
  • Engine: The Sweptail is powered by a 6.75-liter V12 engine.
  • Performance: It produces 453 horsepower and has a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

6. SP Automotive Chaos – $14.4 Million

The SP Automotive Chaos is a proposed “ultracar” from Greek manufacturer Spyros Panopoulos Automotive, claiming a starting price of $6.4 million for the entry-level “Earth” version, and up to $14.4 million for the top-tier “Zero Gravity” model. The vehicle was digitally revealed in 2021, though its existence beyond the digital realm and its record-breaking claims have been met with considerable skepticism.

South Korea’s bold hypercar entrant: a 3,000+ hp quad-turbo V10 in a carbon monocoque. Aimed at shattering records, its extreme aero and 0–60 under 2 seconds position it as an underdog disruptor in the $10M+ league.

  • Engine: The Chaos is claimed to be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V10 engine, with two power levels offered.
    • The “Earth” version is said to produce 2,049 horsepower and rev to 11,000 rpm.
    • The “Zero Gravity” version is claimed to generate 3,065 horsepower with a redline between 11,800 and 12,200 rpm.

“Vaporware” concerns: Similar to other ambitious startup projects like the Devel Sixteen, the Chaos has been labeled “vaporware”—a product that is announced but never actually released. As of late 2025, there has been no independent confirmation of a working physical car or any of its claims.

7. Bugatti Centodieci – $9 Million

The Bugatti Centodieci is a limited-edition hypercar produced by the French manufacturer Bugatti, with an initial price of $9 million. Unveiled in 2019 to celebrate Bugatti’s 110th anniversary, the car is a modern tribute to the legendary Bugatti EB110 of the 1990s. Its name, Centodieci, is Italian for “110”.

Only 10 built to honor Bugatti’s 110th anniversary and the EB110. Lighter/faster than the Chiron (1,578 hp W16), its diamond nostrils and quadrate leather interiors fetch $15M+ on resale—true modern rarity.

EB110 tribute: The Centodieci is based on the Bugatti Chiron’s chassis but reinterprets the wedge-shaped design of the EB110. Key design cues include the five circular air intakes on the side and the smaller “horseshoe” grille.
Speed and acceleration:

0–100 km/h (0–62 mph): 2.4 seconds.

0–200 km/h (0–124 mph): 6.1 seconds.

0–300 km/h (0–186 mph): 13.1 seconds.

Top speed: Electronically limited to 380 km/h (236 mph).

  • Limited edition: Only 10 units of the Centodieci were produced, making it one of the rarest Bugatti models.
  • All units sold: The car was completely sold out even before its official unveiling.
  • Hand-built: The cars were hand-built at Bugatti’s Molsheim factory, with deliveries to customers beginning in 2022.
  • Notable owners: One of the most prominent owners is football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
